Frequently Asked Questions
1. How far in advance do I need to book my maternity + newborn session?
It’s never too early to reserve your session, especially if you’re considering a milestones collection! We only take a limited number of due dates per month so we recommend reaching out at least two months before your due date and at the beginning of your second trimester.
2. When should I plan for those sessions to take place?
The sweet spot for maternity sessions is around the 30-34 week mark, and a little early for pregnancies with multiples. Newborn sessions ideally occur within the first three weeks of life and are scheduled after you deliver.
3. Do you offer in home newborn sessions?
We highly recommend newborn sessions take place in the studio conveniently located in downtown Columbus. We do sometimes travel to client’s homes on request, but a travel fee does apply. We also need to coordinate a little more while planning your session to ensure there are no concerns in achieving the look you see in the portfolio.
4. Do you carry my size in your wardrobe/how do I know it will fit me?
We strive to carry a very inclusive wardrobe and have options up to size 22. Most dresses are cut in versatile and flattering silhouettes with draping fabric so that you feel your best, even in the complicated post-partum stage. In addition, every signature session includes a styling appointment where you are invited to the studio to try on our dresses and style the rest of the family accordingly.
5. Can my dog participate?
Yes! Our fur babies hold such an important part in our lives and we love to welcome them in as a part of your portrait session.
6. Can I buy just the digitals
Of course you can! All product choices, including digital files are purchased after your session at a separate ordering appointment. Our goal is to best serve our clients and we know many people desire those digital copies of their images. We also know that when clients try to DIY, they are quickly overwhelmed with the choices and extra work on their plate to actually print their work. That is why many of our clients take advantage of our services in framing their images or designing their album and the more they invest the larger the discount on their digital files. Many clients end up earning their digital files complimentary on the way.
