My first post with Michael was in Columbus, Georgia (confusing, I’m aware). I had just started working remotely full time and moved away from a life I’d established for myself in Columbus, Ohio. It was a really lonely time. I hated it there. I swore the next time we moved, I wouldn’t let it get like that. Then we found out we were moving to Sierra Vista, Arizona. I was not excited, I’d been there before with Michael, and I felt so out of place in the desert. Regardless, we went, and I desperately tried to make some friends.
Halfway in our time there, Michael had started a class and I met some of the wives of the other classmates. I got along with them like I’d never found since college. Conversation was easy. I am usually so shy I do not reach out to people first, but I remembered Georgia, and I did it. They became my lifeline. I am so grateful for their friendship and camaraderie during a time and experience that few can relate to.
I was so excited when I found out that one of these girls was going to be in Cincinatti soon to visit her sister and new niece (miss Annabelle). This session was special because it felt more like a coffee or wine chat while our little babes got to meet. It’s special taking anyone’s pictures, but having your friends trust you with their memories is just the best. Levi was such a happy baby, and boy was he active. I think he might just skip walking and go right to running. Also, their home was right beside a horse farm (no big deal), so we ran outside in between thunderstorms to grab the most magical outdoor portraits.
