When the Johnson’s reached out to me to do their family session with their sweet little six month old daughter, one of their first requests was to get some pictures with the fall foliage outside. We chose a week in mid October and I just kept watch on the weather and the forecast so we could try to hit the season at peak for them. We could not have timed it better with our short season of fall leaves this year! My field location never disappoints with its dreamy sunset filtering through the leaves, but in the second half of the session we walked over to another side of the field to get those gorgeous yellow and orange leaves. The last of the sun’s rays were shining on those leaves and just making them look like molten gold.
The Johnsons were just the kindest and warmest people. Their little girl smiled constantly and was the happiest little baby I’ve seen in a while. I absolutely love photographing the six month old age. I think it’s one of the ages easiest to overlook with pictures because you’ve just gotten over the newborn sleepless nights and it feels like you just took pictures not that long ago. Babies change so much during the first year, and those early months are so special, I highly recommend prioritizing them.
