This sweet couple put their trust in me for my first (ever) maternity session. She was due in May, on my husband’s birthday. If that’s not the universe talking, I don’t know what is. Bailey and Brendan were the cutest couple. They goofed around talking about their love for Harry Potter and Start Wars. You could just see the love and friendship just enveloping them.
Pregnancy was wonderful and miraculous for me, but I never felt really beautiful, except in my own maternity pictures. I mostly felt uncomfortable. I totally appreciated and loved the awesomeness of being able to do that, and still to this day I get a sense of pride and amazement when I see her toddle around that I GREW her. However, those emotions were not the ones that necessarily make you feel beautiful. I was worried my own personal awkwardness at my experience would carry over to this first maternity photography session, but honestly, it didn’t.
I felt awe. I felt empowered. I felt incredible humility that I got to capture this special, sacred time.
Thank you, Bailey and Brendan for giving me that opportunity. I’m hooked. Bring me all the sweet baby bellies. You are awesome, you are beautiful, and you are strong.
