Rory is running. She’s just running everywhere. And I am “le tired” (anyone remember that youtube video? Does that reference age me?). We went to the park and it was like she saw freedom she never felt before in our backyard. I’m just curious where toddlers get their energy because I’d really like a piece of that!

One of the things that challenges me as a baby photographer is capturing the uniqueness of each age. When they’re newborn part of that is the macro shots of their tiny toes, fingernails, wisps of hair. At 6 months is their first successful sits, the rolliest roles, and the BEST smiles. At a year they’re standing and maybe even walking and their personalities shine through their faces. At 18 months it’s just movement. They’re moving everywhere. I loved how I was able to get her tracking planes in the sky, running full speed, and dancing. That, more than just a headshot of her, means more to me. Because I can see HER.
