I am a girlie girl. I unapologetically love glitter and pink, I’m obsessed with romance and fairy tales, and champagne is my drink of choice. I’ve always loved to shop and wearing new, beautiful clothes makes me feel beautiful. My mom used to always complain that I always needed a new dress for something when I was younger. Which probably was annoying. Still to this day though, there is just something that makes me feel extra special and put together when I’m wearing something new. I know as a part of my business model, I wanted to treat my clients and give them that feeling of beauty and luxury. What better way than source and provide gorgeous, delicately made gowns for a photography wardrobe that I know will photography beautifully and fit flatteringly? Also, just to make it extra easy, I also offer clothes for children and even shirts for dad.
Enter Gilded Social. A fancy occasion shop in downtown Columbus, they offer a huge selection of bridesmaids dresses from luxury designers like Amsale, Hayley Paige, and Monique Lhuillier. After following them for a little while on Instagram, I knew they might be a good source for the looks I was curating. Suddenly, I saw they were having a sample sale, and tons of their gorgeous dresses that had merely been hanging on their rank was discounted to very affordable prices, under $100. I also love a good bargain so I hightailed it in there.
First off, whoever their store interior designer was is my soul sister. It just radiates this femininity and elegance and I want to live there. As they run on appointments only outside of the sample sale, the shop was empty except for me and my family and it was such an intimate experience. I highly recommend it for any bridal party considering dresses. Their model allows you to really focus on the occasion and experience with your friends with no distractions.
However, if you are just in the market for a new dress, I would absolutely check out their sample sale. For as much as it would cost you to rent a designer gown (which they also offer), you can own it. I walked in and found this gorgeous ivory tulle skirt and I HAD to have it for my client photography wardrobe. I knew it would be flattering, soft, and a bit flirty for my moms who maybe didn’t want a full length dress for their session. In Europe I tested this beauty out in the Tuscan town of Lucca. Sunrise one morning, before the heat really took over the town, we strolled along Piazza Antelminelli and Rory ran all across the square chasing the pidgins. Looking for a lighter palette, we all wore neutrals and I paired it with a lace crop top, both which are available in the studio wardrobe. Later that night I switched it up for a bit more drama with a black plunging v top and cooled off with some lemon ricotta gelato. Which look is your favorite?”
