One of my very old friends contacted me about a shoot for her youngest who was turning one. It’s such a fun age and yet rife with its own new challenges. Walking and mobility brings a different kind of exhaustion than the newborn haze. Their personality though, that shines through so brightly for the first time and it is pure magic.
As a baby photographer one of the challenges of the job is figuring out the best way to capture their personality and keep everything in focus while they scramble everywhere. Luckily, I have a daughter about the same age so I have a lot of baby model wrangling practice!
This momma wanted some special portraits to celebrate her youngest, but also some sibling portraits of her three daughters. We all played and twirled and looked at the little birdies outside the window. Getting your pictures should be fun and I try very hard to keep everyone laughing and relaxed. The reviews that mean the most are the ones where they told me they were stress-free, comfortable, and just having fun. If you can get past the stress and just enjoy your babies, I promise the good pictures will follow.
