As we began to see our time in Oxford draw closer to an end (check out week 1 and week 2) we grew so bittersweet about it all. There was still so much we hadn’t seen and done. Suddenly five weeks seemed all too short. This place had shown us a new pace of life where we felt more connected. We had slowed down. The responsibilities that we got so caught up with just weren’t prioritized the same way. We were really focused on being in the moment with each other, which I’ll admit easily goes by the wayside when we’re home in Columbus.

We ran off to Wales for one Saturday just to say we did it. We visited Christchurch where lots of Harry Potter was filmed and I felt like a 12 year old fangirl again. We simply wandered the streets. Saying goodbye was hard. In 5 short weeks, it was a home to us. I’ve lived in a lot of a places, and 5 weeks is fast to feel at home (honestly sometimes I never feel at home in a place). Isn’t it funny how some places just do that to your heart quickly? Oxford, you were so special to us. Our daughter grew in your streets. We leaned into your quiet connectedness. We appreciated your vibrance and creativity. We’ll be back.
